Farook College-Calicut is an important educational centre,established in the late 40’s One of the facilities is the Department of Physics known for its research activities .In 2021 the new Physics Block was completed. The square corner site ,in the heart of the campus is abutted by roads on two sides. Designed as two wings with a central access core , to facilitate easy movement .The built has a splayed form, adding visual interest Research laboratories, classrooms and other supporting facilities are integrated in the planning.The three storey structure has a corridor which acts as a connecting spine , with classrooms on one side .There are several transitional spaces for students to convene, the amphitheater and open lobbies which get activated by the students , fostering a sense of community . The block has trellises and framed edges of terracotta jaali – allowing the greens to slowly colonise the spaces . A space to learn and explore.
