Goodearth Hermitage is a multi-dwelling commune situated on a 36-cent plot, designed to echo the traditional Kerala “nallu-kettu” (family home) with a modern twist. Nestled away from the bustling Medical College Road, the design takes advantage of the land’s varying levels. Vehicular parking is situated on the lower level, leaving the upper levels free of vehicles. The central green court serves as the heart of the community, surrounded by four blocks, each offering views of the court. The spaces between these blocks, like a carom play area and sit-out, foster a sense of togetherness. The vibrant yellow of the court’s brick masonry, paired with the interplay of solids and voids, enhances the natural beauty of the surroundings.
