Kingsbay Restaurant

Located a few furlongs from the sea, Kingsbay Restaurant is housed in a colonial building that has weathered time and undergone several transformations—from a residential home to an office and even a used car showroom—before becoming a multi-cuisine restaurant. Despite its dilapidated state, the building retained a certain charm that inspired the restoration of its lost glory. The design incorporates interconnected rooms with a continuous verandah that respects the local climate. The supporting columns of the verandah were rebuilt in brick masonry for stability. The building’s interior features a unique ceiling with cross beams and rafters that support the upper floor. Decorative niches and murals, including motifs of the beach, lighthouse, boats, and beach activities, infuse the space with vibrant blues and yellows, reflecting the essence of its seaside location.
